summer does things IN LONDON

I AM MOVING TO ENGLAND!

It’s absolutely crazy and I can’t believe it myself yet… honestly, I probably won’t feel like it’s real until I hop off the plane in another COUNTRY on another CONTINENT.

Why?? I am moving to London to go to university!  I have always wanted to go to England and I think college is the perfect time. Why not travel the world while you can?? My major will be International Relations and I just couldn’t imagine  learning all kinds of international things about international people while staying in my own country, just seems a little pointless. I love travelling and learning about other people and their cultures,  so going to one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world just seemed like the right decision. (Plus this is as close to going to Hogwarts as I will ever get)

For YEARS I have been drawn to England, I feel like I’m at home there even though I have never been! All of my English friends have been some of the most amazing people I have ever met and they have made me want to experience their amazing country! Not to mention my obsession with tea, British accents, Harry Potter, Kate Middleton and all things European.

When?? I start university this fall as a second year student. University in England is three years, rather than the United States normal 4 years. I graduate this spring from Santiago Canyon College with three associates degrees (that are pretty meaningless but hey they got me in as a second year!) If all goes as planned I will be graduating from university in 2018 with my Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations.

Where?? I have been offered a place at Kingston University located in a borough of London called Kingston-upon-Thames. Apparently it’s the safest and happiest of all the London boroughs! One of the reasons this was my first choice of university was its AMAZING location, only 3o minutes by train from all the amazing things in central London. I had no idea really how large London was, and I don’t think I will even comprehend the size even when I get there. I have been madly google maps-ing how close I will be to everything and it seems like an amazing location. I can’t wait to explore London and the rest of the UK and Europe!

Also, fun fact about Kingston, if you have read “Emma” by Jane Austen (one of my all time favorite authors) Kingston is the town that Mr Knightly mentions going to! So pretty much I’ll just be living my dream of being in a Jane Austen book… nbd.

Obviously this is a HUGE thing and I am SO thankful to have such amazing parents who want to make this happen for me. Even though I’m pretty sure my mom and dad think I am *slightly* crazy for wanting to go to school in another country I am so thankful to have such awesome, supportive parents who want me to travel and get a great education. This has been a dream of mine for YEARS and I am so happy that it is finally all coming together. It’s very surreal and pretty crazy and, like I said before, it’s not going to feel real until I am actually there.

Thanks again Mom and Dad! I don’t know how I will ever be able to thank you for giving me a chance to have such a great experience, I love you!
